Fix even the most severely infected computers with Norton Rescue Tools
Sometimes computers become so infected with threats that are deeply buried in the computer's operating system that special tools are required to remove them. That’s where Norton Rescue Tools can help. Norton Bootable Recovery Tool and Norton Power Eraser are designed to target and eliminate these hard-to-remove threats and unique types of crimeware.
How to Use the Tools
Before your computer is infected
If your computer is already infected
Norton Bootable Recovery Tool helps you create customized rescue media (on DVD or USB) before your computer becomes infected. If your computer becomes so infected that it won’t start, you can use your rescue media to start your computer and remove the threats that caused the problem.

Your license for your Norton security product includes use of Norton Bootable Recovery Tool. Make sure you have your product key or PIN handy, then take a moment to download the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool wizard and follow the simple steps to create your customized rescue media.
First, download and run the free Norton Power Eraser tool to scan for and remove threats. Be aware that, because Norton Power Eraser is an aggressive scan that looks for deeply embedded threats, it may quarantine a legitimate program. However, you can always undo the results of a scan.

If you still have a problem after running Norton Power Eraser, use Norton Bootable Recovery Tool to restart your computer in a safe environment, then remove the threats that caused the problem. For full functionality, Norton Bootable Recovery Tool requires a wired Internet connection. Also, while running Norton Power Eraser should take no more than five minutes, running Norton Bootable Recovery Tool may take up to two hours.
